Why is it hard for businesses to find good, hard-working young people?
Why is it important for employees to work independently – without applause/recognition?
Are many Gen Zer’s ruled by anxiety and stress?
Does this prevent many from functioning in society and even going to work?

BUSINESS LEADERS: UNDERSTANDING GEN Z
Discussed by Dr. James Thrasher
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)
Part 1 of 2
Are Gen Z workers wired differently than Gen Xers and Baby Boomers? Have there been stark differences between generations for, well… generations?
Today, Dr. James Thrasher discusses these differences and explains why they occur. Dr. Thrasher is the Senior Advisor to the Vice President for Student Recruitment at
Grove City College. He also serves as Associate Professor of Biblical and Religious Studies and Humanities.
Click
here to read the op-ed from Dr. James Thrasher on this important topic. Print it out! Go over it with your teens and young adult kiddos. They need to know what employers are looking for!
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why is one of Dr. Thrasher’s friends exhausted trying to find good, hard-working young people for his business?
Do many Gen Z workers lack motivation? Are they easily distracted? Do they have poor face-to-face communication skills? Are many unrealistic and crave recognition/attention? Do they have a disdain for repetitive tasks and lack an acceptable work ethic? Are many claiming that their “mental health” is at risk with certain responsibilities?
Do most older workers have different work habits than Gen Zer’s?
PART 2 OF 2 - BUSINESS LEADERS: UNDERSTANDING GEN Z
Discussed by Dr. James Thrasher
with The Institute for Faith and Freedom (www.FaithAndFreedom.com)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
What is “High Frustration Tolerance”?
Why is it important for employees to work independently – without
applause/recognition?
Are many Gen Zer’s ruled by anxiety and stress? Does this prevent many from
functioning in society and even going to work?
Do many Gen Zer’s lack patience for long timelines, wanting to get tasks and
projects completed as quickly as possible?
Older generations were raised with a “make do” type of mindset. Do many
Gen Zer’s crave the latest in everything – including in their career choices –
never satisfied with the mundane?
So what happened? Why are Gen Zer’s so different than Gen Xers and Baby Boomers?

DAVID’S TAKE ON ROMANS 8:1 “NO CONDEMNATION”
Discussed by David Fleming
with Lanier Theological Library (www.LanierTheologicalLibrary.org)
Day 3
WHAT IS THE RESULT OF SIN? CONDEMNATION. WHAT DID WE GAIN FROM CHRIST’S DEATH ON THE CROSS? NO CONDEMNATION!
This week, former CFBC Pastor David Fleming subs in for Mark keeping the theme of Romans going with his take on the phrase
“No Condemnation” from Romans 8:1.
If you missed Mark’s lesson on Romans 8:1 from January 18, 2026, check out the archives on our homepage. The lesson was aired during the week of January 26-30.

If you have a prayer request, need Scripture encouragement, or would like a copy of Mark’s lessons each week, email
wantmore@biblical-literacy.org
QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
What is grace? David Fleming uses the example of a debt being paid to explain…
What kind of punishment/consequence do we deserve for our sinful behavior?
Why would God allow us, horrible sinners, the option to wipe the slate clean?
Does “once saved always saved” mean that we can just keep sinning and sinning and sinning without any consequences?
David Fleming has a great response to this often-asked question.
Can “no condemnation” lead to pride, arrogance, and even self-righteousness?

Day 3
DO YOU HAVE A BURDEN TO SHARE THE GOSPEL? DO YOU TRULY BELIEVE THAT GOD CAN DO ANYTHING? ARE YOU PREPARED TO ACT ON FAITH?
Pastor Jarrett Stephens continues in his new series entitled NEXT: From Northwest Houston to the World. The series will focus on Nehemiah.
This week, he introduces us to Nehemiah and the burden he felt for the people of Israel.
Scripture Reference: Nehemiah 1:1-11

Questions/Issues Discussed:
NEHEMIAH’S POSTURE
PLOT TWIST OR GOD’S PROVIDENCE: Nehemiah was a Jew!
Who was Nehemiah? What was a “cup bearer”? Was it an important, prominent position?
How did Nehemiah behave in his personal life? Was he a faithful servant of God? (Psalm 137:1-6)
REMEMBER: The Israelites were in exile and experiencing great suffering. Did Nehemiah care? Was he kind and compassionate toward their situation?
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, text the word JESUS to 77069 and a pastor or counselor from CFBC will call you back.

PRAYER
Discussed by Terry Lowry
with Host of the What's UP Radio Program

Father God,
Thank you for keeping your watchful eye over me. Help me to avoid the pit and guide me away from the cliff.
How am I to be my brother’s keeper today? How am I to encourage, admonish, help, and lead others? How am I to pray for family and friends?
I pray that my words and actions point to your son and his redeeming grace. May I not be a hindrance in any way. Instead, may I be a witness in word and deed.
Father, guide me. Holy Spirit fill me. Lord Jesus, shine through me as I walk through this day.
And, if I am granted tomorrow, let’s repeat.
Amen
