Take Another Voter With YouTexas GOP Primary Ballot Propositions GUEST EDITORIAL By State Representative Valoree Swanson These 10 non-binding proposi- tions will be on the Republican Primary Ballot. Vote YES if you agree or NO if you disagree. 1. Texas should not restrict or prohibit prayer in public schools. YES - As a nation, we pride ourselves on freedom of religion. Prohibiting teachers and students from ex- ercising that right is unconstitutional and should no longer be tolerated from Texas public schools. 2. Texas should reject restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. YES - Texas has made great strides in increasing Sec- ond Amendment rights. We must continue to fight the efforts of the left to take away our constitutional rights. 3. Texas should ban the practice of taxpayer- funded lobbying, which allows your tax dollars to be spent on lobbyists who work against the taxpayer. YES - Your tax dollars should not be spent on lobbying for higher tax rates and other ways to siphon tax dollars from Texas citizens. 4. Texas should support the construction of a physical barrier and use existing defense- grade surveillance equipment along the en- tire southern border of Texas. YES - While Congress drags their feet to protect our southern border, Texas needs to take the lead to ensure that our citizens are protected from gangs, human trafficking, and cartel violence. 5. Texas parents or legal guardians of public school children under the age of 18 should be the sole decision makers for all their children’s healthcare decisions including, but not limited to, psychological assessment and treatment, contraception, and sex education. YES - Time and time again, we are reminded govern- ment makes a terrible parent. We need to ensure the power to determine what is best for their children lies exclusively with parents. 6. Texas should ban chemical castration, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and genital mutilation surgery on all minor children for transition purposes, given that Texas children as young as three (3) are being transitioned from their biological sex to the opposite sex. YES - Certain rights are reserved for adults because children's brains are not yet fully developed. It is ab- surd to allow them to make these kinds of life- altering decisions at such young ages. 7. Texans should protect and preserve all historical monuments, artifacts, and buildings, such as the Alamo Cenotaph and our beloved Alamo, and should oppose any reimagining of the Alamo site. YES - It is imperative that Texas preserve our powerful history by saving our monuments and historical sites. Only efforts to restore the Alamo to its 1836 battle- ground conf iguration should be entertained. The Cenotaph memorial to the Alamo fighters should not be moved. 8. Texas election officials should heed the direc- tives of the Office of the Governor to purge illegal voters from the voter rolls and verify that each new registered voter is a U.S. Citi- zen. YES - The right to vote is a crucial one for Texas citizens and one that is diluted by illegal voters. We must ensure that our election integrity remains intact. 9. Bail in Texas should be based only on a person’s danger to society and risk of flight, not that person’s ability to pay. PROPONENTS SAY - this will ensure potentially innocent Texans are not punished for their financial status. OPPONENTS SAY - this allows dangerous criminals to be released early to commit more crimes. 10. 10. Texas should limit our state legislators' terms to 12 years. PROPONENTS SAY - this will prevent entrenched career politicians. OPPONENTS SAY - this will give more power to unelected professional staffers and ca- reer bureaucrats who do not have term limits. Visit www.TerryLowry.com S.H.E. Votes. WHY? By Terry Lowry, Editor Thanks to Susan B. Anthony, we are celebrating the 100th Anniversar y this year of the 19th Amendment, which guarantees all American women the right to vote. Thank you, Susan B. Anthony, for being one of the shining leaders of the suffrage movement. In the 2018 mid-terms election, 53% of voters were women and 47% were men. What issues motivate women to vote? S – for Safety It was made clear to me recently that men have no idea what goes through a woman’s mind when she decides to go shopping. Questions going through her mind, like: which store is the safest? Where should I park to be the safest? I should not go out by myself at night, but we need milk and bread; what should I do? The Democrat’s policy of catch-and-release and ‘no cash bail’ enables the bad-guys to quickly return to the streets to commit more crimes. The Democrat’s policies are not making women any safer. For their own safety, all women should vote Republican. H – for Healthcare Mother’s see the bottom-line take-home pay shrinking. For example, health insurance premiums are so much more costly since the Democrat’s passed Obamacare. Remember, NO Republican voted for Obamacare. Democrats promised reductions in monthly premiums. They lied. Women know this. They see the amount taken out every month by their employer and/or their hus- band’s employer. They see the cost of policies they cannot afford. Democrats are laser-focused on destroying private health insurance. Their path to total control of healthcare is to force premiums higher and higher until the majority of voters beg for government control. Look at the Post Office. Do you want to stand in line for your healthcare with all of the decisions controlled by some nameless, faceless WDC bureaucrat? To Reduce the cost of healthcare, all women should vote Republican. E – for the Economy Obama made fun of candidate Donald Trump, stating: “Can Trump wave a magic wand and return jobs to America?” Well, guess what? Trump has delivered. Trump may be like a doctor who has no bedside manner, telling you to lose weight and exercise. You hate the way he says it. But, in your heart, you know he is right. The Democrats will do everything they can to destroy the economy simply because they want to beat Trump. They don’t care how they hurt you in the process. For the good of the economy, all women should vote Republican.3 February 2020 www.TerryLowry.com Why Does H.E. Vote? By Terry Lowry, Editor He does not want disturbed men in women’s facilities. He does not want disturbed men dressed as Drag Queens reading to his children and grandchildren in public libraries. He sees the stupidity and hypocrisy of those who do not want to give hormones to cows, but want to see little boys turned into little girls. There Is Evil and Hatred in the World He is standing tall, saying: I will no longer be quiet. I will no longer be ashamed of being a man. I will no longer be afraid to stand and say that I am a Republican. I will vote. I will pick the best candidates to defeat the lying, American-haters that mascaraed as sanctimonious liberators for the oppressed. He has compassion for the less-fortunate, but realizes that government is not the answer. He has seen the streets of modern-day Venezuela and how Socialism has destroyed a once proud, prosperous country. He has common-sense to realize that the Democrat policies of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin have turned their streets and underpasses into encampments for the mentally ill, drug/alcohol abusers, and pimps. Enough is Enough He is standing tall, saying: I will no longer be quiet. Catch and Release He hears and reads stories of how Democrats have instructed law enforcement to simply catch then release the criminals back onto our streets to commit further crimes. He now says: Enough of this madness. Enough of the lawlessness. He now says: I am going to vote Republican. I will vote in this Primary. I will help choose the best candidates to defeat the lying, American-hating Democrats who have been blinded by the devil himself. Republicans Are Not the Problem He will no longer believe the lie that white male Republicans are the problem. He will no longer believe the lie that black male Republicans are the problem. He will no longer believe the lie that Hispanic male Republicans are the problem. He will no longer believe the lie that Asian male Republicans are the problem. He says: I will stand with my mother, my wife, my daughter, and my sister, and I will march into the voting booth. He says: I will no longer be silent. I will Vote. And I will vote Republican. Editor’s Note: There are two sample ballots attached. Study the issues. Study the candidates. Tear off the Sample Ballots. Use one for yourself and give the other to a family member or friend who, like you, are sick and tired of the lying Democrats who have the wrong vision and course for America. It is legal to carry the Sample Ballot attached right into the voting booth. Editor’s Note: From under an overpass, these look able bodied to me.www.TerryLowry.com February 2020 4 Where Were You on 9/11?
